Assault and kidnapping at Kadatanamale Gate toll booth

April 17, 2026

A BMW car approached the Kadatanamale Gate toll booth near Nelamangala around 1:30 am. The occupants refused to pay the toll, claimed they had neither FASTag nor cash, and asserted they were 'MLA-side people' who would not pay. Three men then attacked the toll employee, punching him and kicking him as he fell. Deekshit, a colleague, rushed to help and was assaulted, dragged into the BMW, and threatened with death if the toll was pursued. The attackers rammed through the toll barrier and fled in the BMW and a Toyota Fortuner that joined later. Deekshit was later dumped near Suradenapura Gate as the attackers escaped. A police complaint led to a FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and a search is underway to trace and arrest the accused.
