Police arrested Zulfikar alias Raka and Arif Malik near a bus stand under Kiratpur police station limits. Interrogations revealed Arif formed a group of youths with criminal tendencies and connected with Aaqib via social media, and he claimed warnings were issued to delete incriminating photos and videos after recent arrests. Zulfikar said he had worked as a barber in Tamil Nadu for two years and was in touch with Aaqib through social media. Police stated Aaqib uploaded provocative content online and incited activities such as targeting communities, damaging railway property and setting vehicles on fire. Lookout notices have been issued against Aaqib and Azad (Azad currently in Saudi Arabia). The case is registered at Nangal police station under sections 152 and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with the Arms Act and the Information Technology Act.
