Officials said PM Modi will visit the Orchidarium at Swarnajayanti Maitri-Manjari Park and later Paljor Stadium on April 28 for the main celebration of Sikkim’s 50th statehood. At Paljor Stadium, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore across sectors such as infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism, and urban development, and address a large public gathering.

PM Modi led a two-day visit with a roadshow through a two-km stretch from Libing Helipad to Lok Bhawan in Gangtok to mark 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang joined in the convoy. Cultural troupes performed traditional dances as thousands lined the route. Governor Om Prakash Mathur had earlier reached Lok Bhawan to receive him, and Sikkim BJP president DR Thapa accompanied the PM in the convoy.
