Police respond, case registered and statements taken
A report of gunfire was received and police teams rushed to the spot. SSP Kunwar Anupam Singh said the groom’s wedding procession was heading toward the bride’s village when the accused intercepted them, and that a case has been registered under relevant sections. Police teams have been formed to arrest the accused, and swift apprehension is expected. The victim’s father, Ram Lakhan Bind, said they had been assaulted by the accused earlier as well, when he was on his way to Mumbai, and his leg was broken.
Groom shot dead on way to wedding near Bibipur village
Azad Bind, 27, a resident of Badaur village, was travelling with his wedding procession toward the bride’s village when attackers intercepted the convoy near Bibipur under the Khetasarai police station area around 7 p.m. on Friday. A relative of the bride, Pradeep Bind, who was unhappy with the marriage, along with associate Ravi Yadav, arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the groom. Azad Bind was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
