Crop survey programme progress
The agriculture department has intensified the crop survey programme to collect village-wise data on crops and farming activities. Around 47 lakh plots have been surveyed so far, with survey work gaining momentum in about 15,000 revenue villages, while work in the remaining around 45,000 revenue villages is at an advanced stage.
PM-KISAN beneficiaries and overall eligibility in Bihar
There are around 75 lakh PM-KISAN beneficiaries in Bihar, and nearly two crore farmers in the state are eligible for benefits under various agricultural schemes.

May 12, 2026: Second phase of issuing farmers’ IDs launched
Agriculture minister Vijay Kumar Sinha launched the second phase of issuing farmers’ IDs to the remaining beneficiaries under the Agri Stack programme at Phulwari Sharif block. The exercise has so far issued IDs to 47.85 lakh agriculturists out of 88.40 lakh registered, with about 55 percent coverage achieved. The government plans to issue IDs to another 40.54 lakh farmers soon. Senior officials including Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Narmedhwar Lal, and Revenue and Land Reforms Department Secretary Jai Singh were present.
January 2026: Agri Stack exercise launches to build comprehensive farmers' registry
The agriculture department launched the Agri Stack exercise in January 2026 to create a comprehensive farmers’ registry containing details of each farmer and their land records, sourced from the revenue and land reforms department. The agriculture department and the revenue and land reforms department are jointly implementing the project in close coordination with the aim of digitising land records and enabling transparent, speedy disbursal of incentives and subsidies under various schemes.
