Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced at an event in Chandigarh that 416 government schools achieved a 100% pass rate in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 12 examinations. The three toppers scored 500 out of 500 marks, with each receiving a cash prize of ₹50,000. Mann noted that the toppers are national and state-level players from humble backgrounds and pledged government support to help them realise their ambitions. He provided examination statistics: pass percentage for girls 94.73% and for boys 88.52%. Amritsar district had the highest pass percentage (96%), while Patiala district produced the highest number of merit holders (59). Mann highlighted that girls have outperformed boys in academics and urged aspirants to consider the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls in Mohali, described as the country’s only fully residential institute training young women for careers as commissioned officers in the Defence Services. One topper expressed a desire to become an Indian Air Force pilot. The event was attended by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, Principal Secretary to the CM Dr Ravi Bhagat, School Education Secretary Sonali Giri, and other senior officials.
